Welcome to my research on
Bayesian Statistics and Item Response Theory!

I have worked in the theory division of the Max-Planck-Institute for Nuclear Physics.
My research interests have been:
Chaotic quantum systems and
Conclusions from randomly fluctuating data
My research interests are at present:
Bayesian statistics
Item Response Theory
Biographical note:
Hanns Ludwig Harney, born in 1939, professor at the University of Heidelberg. Married to Barbara Teloo (second marriage). Four children: Rudolf Harney, Christoph Harney, Marie Teloo and Justus Teloo. Publications: More than 120 articles in journals of physics; book on Bayesian Inference, edited by Springer, Heidelberg 2003 and 2016. He has contributed to experimental and theoretical physics within the Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics at Heidelberg. His interest was focussed on symmetries, such as isospin and its violation, as well as chaos, observed as Ericson fluctuations. Since the 1990's, the symmetry properties of common probability distributions lead him to a reformulation of Bayesian statistics.
